Enough is enough

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 14, 2009, 11:30 PM
Before I start yes I'm having a very rough week but it's time this is brought up...

I've been doing some traveling lately, just to clear my head and do my own thing for a little while. Every place is different but every place also has one thing in common...GARBAGE AND LITTER FROM CARELESS PEOPLE. For the life of me I cannot understand why someone would go to Niagara Falls, a beach, or a state park presumably to enjoy nature and then throw their cups, wrappers or cigarette butts on the ground.

I saw people at Niagara Falls throwing cups and other trash into the falls to watch it go over the edge. Are we as humans really this stupid? Today I was driving out of a rest stop after a trip to a lighthouse and watched someone pull out of the parking lot (which had trash cans 10 feet from where cars park), and throw their bag of whatever they were eating on the road as the pulled onto I-80.

I'm not saying I'm an eco-freak, but this has gotta stop. If you smoke, most likely your car has an ashtray, if you don't have an ashtray put it in your pocket till you find a trash can to throw it in. If you finish a drink just wait till you get somewhere and throw it away the right way.

So basically it comes down to this, if you are on my watchers list and you throw junk on the ground or out of a car, go ahead and remove yourself from my list, I have no interest in sharing my photo's with that kind of person.

I for one will pick up other peoples litter if I'm at a park and throw it away, it doesn't take any effort to do, and I hope some of you will do this as well so that maybe we can start enjoying nature rather than destroying it.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for 10,000 pageviews.

Tim.

Thank you very very much, feedback like that is what motivates me to get out there and shoot on the days I'm too tired or too busy to just slow down and go out with the camera :)
